Intent to Participate Form

Design & Technology Finals

All student designers, technical directors and craft artisians of associate and participating production are invited to the regional festival. You should be contacted by the Regional Chair of Design, Technology & Management. If you believe that you have qualified for the Design Finals (or if you are unsure), but have not yet been contacted, please ask the Andre Harrington, Regional Chair of Design, Technology & Technology at aharring@csusb.edu.

Awards in following catagories: Allied Design & Technology, Costume Design, Scenic Design, Lighting Design, Sound Design are recognized at the Regional Festival. National finalists in Theatrical Design Excellence in Scenery, Costumes, and Lighting, as well as the KCACTF Award for Sound Design Excellence are chosen to participate at the National Festival in Washington, D.C. in the spring.

If you are nominated for more than one design in a catagory, you will need to choose which design you want to submit for consideration. If you are nominated for designs in different catagories, you can present one design in each catagory for which you are nominated.

The ONLINE REGISTRATION form is for the Festival - you have to pay this fee to participate in all the wonderful opportunities at festival, including the Ryans. You must be registerd for the Design Finals in order to participate in the Design Finals. Register for the Design & Technology Finals by submitting the INTENT TO PARTICIPATE form at http://www.kcactf-8.org/form_design_finals.html

Once you have registered, you will be assigned a time to present your design. If we have no response from you by February 1, we cannot guarantee we will have a time available for you. Please note any possible time confilcts on the registration form (i.e. Irene Ryans Auditions, Invited Production Participation, etc.)

Regional Design Projects

(Festival 45 - February 2013)
Regional Design Projects are intended to serve Region VIII student designers with the opportunity to showcase their work for non–realized design projects, and to receive response to their work that will help them improve their design skills and grow as designers. There will be two entry divisions: Undergraduate and Graduate. All entrants must be currently enrolled students of colleges and universities in Region VIII at the time of the festival. Entry categories include Scene Design, Costume Design, Lighting Design, Makeup Design and Sound Design. (Wig/Hair Designs may be included as a Makeup Design entry, and Projection/Media Designs may be included under either Scenic or Lighting Design) All entries must be original designs conceived and rendered by the entrant for one of the allowed plays:
